Perfect Field Day!
Thanks to everyone who made this day a success!! Thank you Sylvia (Hula Hoop relay), Lesley (Sack races), Jen (for making our super awesome poster), and especially Meg and Karen for coordinating this whole field day! 
Homework for tonight is pretty slim. In Social Studies, students have until Friday to recite. There is no homework in math, but there is a science quiz on Friday. Tuesday, May 17, 2011
Awesome Guest Speaker
Today we had an awesome guest speaker, Laila Wierzba, a Holocaust survivor whose story is quite similar to the story we are reading in class, Number the Stars. Laila was only 3 months old when her family left Denmark and escaped to Sweden during the 1943 raid on Copenhagen during the Nazi occupation. She told an amazing story, and we learned a lot!

You will get your green shirt tomorrow morning. You may wear non-uniform shorts and/or hats. In addition, face paint or war paint (totally optional) should be applied at home only. Also, please apply sunscreen BEFORE school!
