Whew! Our First Full Week!

We had a great week!

The students wrote business letters to their state's tourism departments.  They addressed the envelopes, wrote the appropriate business letter format, and even proofread their peers letters before they went out in the mail yesterday.  We also learned about how the mail works!

We learned about becoming better writers by varying our sentence types.  Now, we can correctly write compound sentences and simple sentences!

We practiced the reading comprehension skill, Understanding Sequence, and we recognized word that are often found in "time order" reading texts.  Words like "after", "next", "then", "before", and "finally" are clue words to help us understand the sequence of events in a story.

In math, we had our division test, and now we are starting multiplying greater numbers.  (Like 67 x 8)

In social studies, we are jumping into Native Americans, and this week we learned about the theories that scientists have come up with about how the first people came to the Americas.

What were those three theories that scientists have about how the first people came to the Americas?  Reply to this message with your answer.  Try to write your answer in a compound sentence!
